Documents Required for a Birth Certificate in Dubai

Information reviewed 8 August 2026. Official procedures can change.

Use a checklist, not a universal promise

Birth-certificate requirements can vary according to the hospital, issuing authority, parents’ identity and nationality documents, family circumstances and the origin of supporting records. The official service card for the case should always control the final list.

Common documents to prepare

  • Hospital or health-facility birth notification.
  • Current passports or Emirates IDs for the parents, as applicable.
  • Marriage document or other family-status evidence requested for the specific route.
  • Appropriate translation or attestation for foreign-issued supporting documents when officially required.
  • Contact details and the reference information needed by the authority’s digital service.

Why a document may require extra preparation

A foreign-issued marriage or identity document may require authentication or an accepted translation before it can support a UAE process. That does not mean every foreign document follows the same chain. The issuing country, document type and receiving authority determine the route.

Verify before submitting

Check the Dubai Health service, the relevant DHA service card, or EHS according to the record.
