The notification starts the registration record
After a birth, the hospital or health facility records the event and prepares the notification used in the relevant registration route. The notification is an important source document, but it is not always the final civil birth certificate needed for passports, residence applications or other official purposes.
Check the recorded details early
- Baby’s date, time and place of birth.
- Parent names and spellings as they appear in the accepted identity documents.
- Nationality and identity-document details where recorded.
- Hospital reference or notification number.
- Any discrepancy that should be reported through the hospital or authority channel.
A spelling inconsistency can affect later passport and residence documents. Do not alter a hospital document yourself. Ask the issuing facility or responsible authority for the formal correction route.
Move from notification to certificate
The responsible route depends on the facility and record. For Dubai Health facilities, begin with the Dubai Health birth-certificate service. Also review the DHA service information. Federal health routes may use Emirates Health Services.
