Complete the documents in the correct sequence
A newborn residence application generally depends on earlier documents being available. The usual sequence begins with the official birth certificate, then the child’s passport or travel document, followed by the applicable residence and identity steps.
Preparation checklist
- Official birth certificate and any required attestation or translation.
- Child’s passport or travel document.
- Sponsor’s passport, Emirates ID and residence evidence.
- Insurance, photograph and other documents required by the current immigration channel.
Rules, grace periods, insurance requirements and fees can change. Confirm the latest requirements through the Federal Authority for Identity, Citizenship, Customs and Port Security or the relevant Dubai residence channel.
