The Dubai record comes before nationality documents
For many expatriate families, the UAE-issued birth certificate is followed by a passport or travel document from the child’s country of nationality and then the applicable UAE residence and identity steps. Embassy and immigration requirements differ, so plan the sequence without assuming one nationality’s process applies to another.
Prepare consistent parent information
- Use parent names exactly as shown in the identity records accepted for the application.
- Check whether foreign-issued marriage or family-status documents need translation or authentication.
- Review the hospital notification before applying for the final certificate.
- Keep clear copies and reference numbers, but do not send identity documents through an unsecured public form.
Confirm the issuing route
Start with the facility and responsible health record, not nationality alone. Review Dubai Health, the relevant DHA service, or EHS.
Plan the next authority separately
After the certificate is issued, check the child’s embassy or consulate for passport requirements. Then confirm the current UAE residence route with ICP or the relevant Dubai immigration channel.
The UAE Government’s newborn information page provides a useful official overview for residents and citizens; verify the detailed service route with the responsible authority.
